An official Health Canada notice concerns Spartan fire. Issue: On a small number of fire trucks equipped with a Weldon vehicle multiplex system, a software problem could cause the power distribution unit not to shut off if there is a short circuit or a wiring problem. As a result, the unit and/or wiring could overheat and melt. Safety Risk: A power distribution unit and/or wiring that overheats and melts could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Spartan Fire will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact Weldon to update the Weldon power distribution unit software. Published 2024-03-11.
