How it works
How RecallScope processes recall information
We make official recall information easier to find and compare. The issuing authority’s notice remains the authoritative source for final product details and safety instructions.
Browse official data sources →Source information and processing
RecallScope brings together recall notices published by the agencies and official systems listed on our Data sources page. We structure and normalize available notice fields so records can be searched and compared across sources.
A source may provide only some fields or use its own terminology. A field that is absent from a notice may remain unavailable in RecallScope; structured records should not be read as a complete copy of every source document.
Risk estimates
Risk labels shown by RecallScope are estimates intended to help readers scan notices. They are not the issuing authority’s classification, a diagnosis, or a substitute for the official notice. Open the linked notice for the authority’s original wording and instructions.
The site displays a recognized risk value supplied with the recall record and normalizes “Moderate” to “Medium.” If no supported value is available, no estimate is shown. The available record does not expose the underlying scoring criteria, so we do not describe a more detailed formula here. Do not use a RecallScope label alone to decide whether a product is safe.
Translations and summaries
RecallScope may show an English translation when an approved translation is available. Translation can be pending, unavailable, or limited to the fields supported by the source data. Where provided, the recall page offers a View original control to read the source-language text.
Summaries, translations, and structured fields are provided for readability. They may omit details from the source notice; check the official notice before taking action.
Dates and updates
Recall pages distinguish dates supplied for the official notice from dates associated with the record in RecallScope. A Last checked date is shown when the backend provides a source-check time; otherwise the page may show the record’s updated time. These dates do not promise a fixed refresh interval or real-time coverage.
Sources publish and update information on different schedules. A change can take time to appear here, and RecallScope does not promise that every source update is immediately available.
Corrections
If you notice information that appears incorrect or out of date, email support@recallscope.app with the recall page and the detail in question. For safety instructions or a correction to an official notice, contact the issuing authority or supplier listed on that notice. The authority’s notice remains authoritative.
Images
RecallScope displays an image only when the record’s image-rights decision permits display and the image has an approved source, a valid HTTPS address, and required credit. Otherwise, the page may show a placeholder or link to the official notice.
A placeholder does not necessarily mean the source notice had no image. The source may contain an image that RecallScope cannot display, for example because its rights or availability are not confirmed.
RecallScope is an information and monitoring service. It does not replace product labels, professional advice, or instructions from an official authority.
