An official Health Canada notice concerns Spartan fire. Issue: On certain fire trucks, the transmission control module (TCM) may not be programmed correctly. As a result, the pump mode may not engage properly, and the truck may not pump water. Safety Risk: A fire pump that doesn't work could cause a lack of water pressure for fighting fires. This could delay emergency response and increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Spartan Fire will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to an Allison Transmission service center to reprogram the TCM. Published 2023-03-14.
