An official Health Canada notice concerns Somatom force. During the transmission of the patient table position information, sporadic interference signals may occur due to an error within the patient table position encoder. This problem can be detected by the system and can result in a scan abort. Sporadic aborts of perfusion scans related to this issue have been reported to us, which can occur during the patient table's back and forth movement when using the adaptive 4D spiral. This update instruction provides the revision 01 of the position sensor for the table top of affected PHS-5 and MPT-4 patient tables to prevent sporadic signal glitches at the zigzag movement of perfusion scans.
