An official Health Canada notice concerns Navicare nurse call. With certain wireless integrations, an issue has been identified when using push button call components, normal calls, staff assist, and code calls will be moved from an active state (toning and displaying on the incoming calls list) to an inactive state (no longer toning and displaying on the call history list) on the nurse call system when a call is answered at a 3rd party wireless phone with no confirmation of the audio communication between patient and caregiver, only that the caregiver answered the call. This does not impact the initial call placement in any way and does not prevent any subsequent call from functioning properly. The requirement for the audio communication is driven by the ul 1069 standard, the regulation for hospital communication and signaling equipment. The intent is to ensure the specific patient request is communicated, as a 'routine' call may be used for multiple non urgent requests. Recall start date: May 27, 2022 Published 2022-06-07.
