An official Health Canada notice concerns Isuzu. Issue: on certain trucks, the chassis and cab wiring harnesses may not have been routed properly. As result, the wiring could become damaged by contact with nearby components and cause a short circuit. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels, the electronic parking brake could stop working, the tail lamps may not work, the airbag warning light may turn on, transmission shifting issues could occur, or the combination switch may not work. Safety risk: a short circuit can create the risk of a fire. A loss of power to the wheels and the other issues could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: isuzu will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, repair or replace the wiring harnesses.
