Common causes include faulty safety components, brake and steering failures, fuel leaks and software faults. A vehicle recall is generally free to fix: the manufacturer or dealer must repair, replace or refund the affected part. Check your VIN against the notice before you book — recalls apply to specific build ranges, not to every vehicle of that model.
