An official Health Canada notice concerns Kme fire apparatus. On certain vehicles, over time, the relief valve of the fire pump may fail due to the retaining ring not having adequate corrosion resistance. If the relief valve were to fail, the fire pump would not be able to build adequate water pressure, which in the case of a fire, may increase the risk of injury during firefighting operations. Correction: Dealers or KME technicians will inspect, and replace retaining ring as necessary. Published 2018-01-17.
