An official NHTSA notice concerns Yamaha - Improperly programmed ecu may cause engine stall. Limited throttle response, engine stall, or a missing warning light can increase the risk of a crash. Published 2022-03-07.
What to do now
Owners should not operate their motorcycle, other than to take it to a dealer, until the remedy is performed. Dealers will reprogram the ecu, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed march 17, 2022. Owners may contact yamaha customer service at 1-866-894-1626. Yamaha's number for this recall is 990158.
