An official NHTSA notice concerns Altec - Platform retaining plate bolts may be improperly tightened. Loose bolts may allow the retaining plate or platform to detach, becoming a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash. The platform may also detach from the boom tip while elevated with occupants aboard, increasing the risk of injury or death. Published 2025-09-25.
What to do now
Altec will instruct owners to inspect and tighten the retaining bolts. Altec will provide replacements for any missing hardware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed november 5, 2025. Owners may contact altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is csn-3253.
