An official Health Canada notice concerns Altec industries. Issue: on certain vehicles, the electronic taillight wiring harness may not have proper circuit protection. Additionally, water could leak into the harness connection. If this happens, the module could short circuit and the wiring could overheat. Safety risk: a short circuit and/or wiring that overheats can create a fire risk. Corrective actions: altec industries will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions and a kit for how to inspect and, if necessary, repair the electronic taillight wiring harness.
