An official Health Canada notice concerns Altec industries. Issue: On a small number of digger derricks, the counterbalance valves may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the counterbalance valves could fail and cause an uncontrolled movement of the boom. Safety Risk: Uncontrolled boom movement could increase the risk of injury to the operator and nearby people. Corrective Actions: Altec Industries will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact Altec Service to inspect and, if necessary, replace the counterbalance valves. Published 2025-05-23.
