An official ACCC notice concerns 4.5L, 6.2L and 8.2L Mercury MerCruiser Engines. If the engine is disabled, it is possible that the boat could become stranded. This could increase the risk of accident or injury. Published 2021-03-25.
What to do now
Consumers should stop using their boat. Owners of affected engines have been contacted in writing to request that they contact an authorised Mercury MerCruiser dealer to schedule a service appointment. Please mention Mercury MerCruiser Service Bulletin 20-09.
