An official NHTSA notice concerns Toyota - Door spot welds affecting air bag deployment. The incorrect air bag sensor readings could cause the affected air bags to unintentionally deploy or to not deploy when intended, increasing the risk of a crash and/or injury. Published 2019-04-23.
What to do now
Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger side front door sub assembly with a new one, free of charge. The recall began june 21, 2019. Owners may contact toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371. Toyota's number for this recall is k1g /k0g.
