An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Weiss Heat Transfer Systems. House Fire – there have been multiple house fires involving these units and there is a significant risk of further fires. Published 2014-06-20.
What to do now
Turn the unit off immediately, and inspect. If your unit is red or green with 2 or 3 outlets, and either; (a) does not have a label, or (b) has a label, but no batch number. Turn the unit off and contact Weiss for assistance and to arrange for a replacement unit.
