Strong frontal impacts such as impacting a deep pothole with significant force, may put extraordinary stress on headset components and could initiate a crack in the fork’s steerer tube.A fork damaged in a harsh impact may break if continued to be used, posing fall and injury hazards. Stop riding and bring your bicycle to your nearest Authorized Specialized Retailer.Your retailer will replace the current expander plug with a new extended expander plug and upgrade the compression ring to the newer-style two-piece compression ring if your bike is not already equipped with one. All of that will strengthen the performance of the overall system and increase its resistance against frontal impacts, making sure you can safely enjoy your Tarmac SL7.
