An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Ryobi & Homelite Brush Cutters & Brush Cutter Blades. If the nut securing the blade is not properly tightened before use in accordance with the instructions the blade may detach. If the blade detaches during use, it could hit and cut you or bystanders. Published 2016-05-06.

What to do now

Immediately stop using the blade attachment and to contact Techtronic Industries N.Z. Limited to either: - return the Product (as a whole) for a refund of the full purchase price of the Product; or - return the Blade (only) for a refund of the full retail price of the Blade.
