An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Powerline Inflators, Diving gear. Aqua Lung has found a small number of the Powerline inflators continuing to inflate after the button is released during a dive. They have identified the cause to be the bezel around the button being over tightened. If the defect occurs during a dive, it may cause the diver to ascend too quickly which can cause serious injury. Published 2016-07-11.

What to do now

Consumers should immediately stop using their BCD and take it in to the nearest authorised Aqua Lung retailer or dive centre. They will be able to correct the defect for you. This is a quick process and is made under warranty so you will not incur any charges.
