An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Petzl NEWTON Harness (European Version). Certain batches of the European Version of PETZL NEWTON harnesses manufactured in the second half of 2022 (SKU C073AA01 C073AA02), NEWTON FAST (SKU C073CA01 and C073CA02) and NEWTON EASYFIT (SKU C073EA00, C073EA01, and C073EA02) may contain nonconforming FAST LT buckles that could lead to a fatal fall. There is a risk that a buckle could fail to perfom as intended. In the most extreme case that could lead to a fatal fall. Published 2025-03-10.
