An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Makita 5057KB 185mm Dustless Circular Saw. When the Saw Base is adjusted to approximately 45° tilt, the Blade Cover does not open fully. If it is forced open the Blade Cover may become stuck in its open position. No injury's or incidents have been reported but in the interest of user safety, Makita NZ Ltd is undertaking a voluntary recall of the Circular Saw for the replacement of the Saw Base. Check the model and serial number of your saw - If the model and serial number of the saw are within the affected range, stop using the saw. Take the saw into the store you bought it from or to the nearest Makita Authorised Service Agent. Makita NZ Ltd will arrange for a free of charge modification to rectify the potential issue.
