An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns JSB Lighting - Flat Moon 950/980 Triangle Suspension Kit. There have been 2 reported cases where the light fitting attached to the Flat Moon 950/980 Triangle Suspension Kit has fallen due to the 'zamac nipple' attachment to the light fitting breaking. A heavy light fitting falling onto passers by, below it, could cause serious injury. Published 2019-12-20.
What to do now
Under the lighting area where the Flat Moon 950/980 Triangle Suspension Kit is used set up a barricade (such as cones) or temporary fencing together with a clearly visible sign advising people not to walk underneath or enter the barricaded area. JSB Lighting has contacted all owners and they are organizing a repair.
