An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Giro Merit Bicycle Helmet. Giro recently became aware of a potential issue with the Giro Merit bicycle helmet where the retention straps may not be properly engaged with it’s anchor and can come loose from the helmet when pulled.Should an affected helmet receive an impact in a crash, there is a possibility that the strap could come loose and provide less impact protection than the helmet otherwise could. What to do now
Return purchased Merit helmets to the dealership/shop that supplied it. It will be replaced with a new Merit helmet free of charge or a full refund.
