An official Health Canada notice concerns Yamaha. On certain snowmobiles outfitted with a dealer-installed aftermarket Mountain Performance, Inc. (MPI) turbocharger kit, the turbo over-boost could cause excessive engine pressures and stresses. This could result in an engine failure, which could result in a fire or a loss of control, both of which could increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install alternate connecting rods that are specifically designed for the increased pressures and stresses. Published 2022-07-05.
