An official Health Canada notice concerns Volvo. Issue: on certain vehicles, there could be a problem inside the high-voltage battery. As a result, the high-voltage battery cells could short circuit. Note: this problem would cause a warning message to be displayed in the instrument panel. Safety risk: a short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective actions: to reduce the safety risk, volvo advises that you should limit the vehicle's maximum state of charge to no more than 70% until the recall repairs have been completed. Volvo will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and replace battery modules, as necessary. Published 2026-03-31.
