An official Health Canada notice concerns Pierce - Oshkosh corporation. Issue: under certain conditions after the fire truck has been auto-leveled, a software problem could cause the firm-on-ground system light to remain on after the rear stabilizer loses contact with the ground. As a result, the fire truck could shift when the aerial device is being used. Note: this recall only affects certain fire trucks equipped with a single rear axle. Safety risk: a fire truck that shifts while the aerial device is being used could create a risk of injury. Corrective actions: pierce will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to update the vehicle software and perform an aerial device functionality check.
