An official Health Canada notice concerns Mercedes-benz. Issue: on one vehicle, the front passenger seat belt buckle may become blocked after the automatic locking retractor (alr) is used. As a result, the front passenger may not be able to use the seat belt. Safety risk: not wearing your seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective actions: in the interim, if this problem happens, to reduce the safety risk, mercedes-benz advises that you can move the front passenger seat to the rearmost position to unblock the seat belt buckle until the recall repairs are completed.
