An official Health Canada notice concerns Mercedes-benz. Issue: on certain electric vehicles, the reverse sound of the pedestrian warning system may not be loud enough. Canadian regulations require electric vehicles to make a minimum sound level when operating at low speeds. Note: this recall only affects certain esprinter models. Safety risk: a pedestrian warning system that isn't loud enough could create an increased risk of injury for other road users. Corrective actions: mercedes-benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the pedestrian alert sound software. Published 2026-02-27.
