An official Health Canada notice concerns Gem - Polaris. Certain vehicles may not comply with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 209 - Seat Belt Assemblies. The retraction mechanisms of the seat belts may have been damaged when the seat belt was manufactured, which could cause them to fail and not allow the belt(s) to extend or retract. Failure of the seatbelt to restrain the seat occupant as intended would increase the risk of personal injury during a crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the seat belt assemblies.
