An official Health Canada notice concerns Bard® gastric and esophageal balloons. Based on customer feedback, BD (C. R. Bard, Inc.) has identified that users are potentially unable to, or are finding it difficult, to remove the plastic plugs in order to inflate the gastric and/or esophageal balloons. In some cases, the devices may become damaged during removal of the plastic plugs. Recall start date: April 17, 2025 Published 2025-04-22.
