An official Health Canada notice concerns Altec industries. On certain aerial devices installed on utility service vehicles (to elevate personnel in order to facilitate working on overhead service lines, for tree trimming, etc.), incorrect sealing plugs could allow water ingress into the aerial control, causing electrical shorts. This could allow the aerial device to move unexpectedly, which could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Altec will supply owners with a replacement electrical harness incorporating seal plugs as well as installation instructions. Owners may contact Altec at 1-877-462-5832.
