An official NHTSA notice concerns Zero Motorcycles - Incorrectly installed accessory chain kits. A dislocated motor shaft magnet can cause an unexpected response of the motor, including a shift to reverse, increasing the risk of a crash. Published 2023-10-03.
What to do now
Dealers will install a new motor with a pre-placed sprocket chain kit as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed october 31, 2023. Owners may contact zero customer service at 1-888-841-8085. Zero's number for this recall is sv-rcl-023-014.
