An official NHTSA notice concerns Prevost Car - Automatic fire detection and suppression system. If the detector wire chafes it may cause the afss to activate with no fire present and, as a result, the stop engine feature will be activated, bringing the vehicle to an unplanned stop and increasing the risk of a crash. What to do now
Prevost will notify owners, and dealers will add a protection cloth to the linear thermal detector wire at the location of tie cable, free of charge. The safety recall began on september 27, 2012. Owners may contact prevost car inc., service department toll-free at 1-866-870-2046 or 1-418-831-2046.
