An official NHTSA notice concerns Mitsubishi - Lower timing chain bolt may be loose. A timing chain bolt that was not properly tightened may result in an engine oil leak, possibly causing the engine to seize, increasing the risk of a crash. Published 2015-04-01.
What to do now
Mfta will notify owners, and dealers will tighten the lower engine timing chain bolt to the proper torque, free of charge. The recal is expected to begin in late june 2015. Owners may call mfta customer service at 1-877-711-0707. Mfta's number for this recall c1007710.
