An official NHTSA notice concerns BMW - Windshield not sealed properly. Water inside electrical components can cause a loss of headlights or door closing functions, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, an electrical short circuit may occur, increasing the risk of a fire while parked or driving. Published 2025-10-08.
What to do now
Dealers will inspect, reseal the windshield, and replace the vehicle control unit and wiring, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed november 21, 2025. Owners may contact bmw customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
