An official NHTSA notice concerns Autocar - Upper hoist cylinder mounting pin may fail. A pin failure can allow the hoist to fall, increasing the risk of injury. In addition, the hoist cylinder can disconnect from the vehicle, becoming a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash. Published 2024-04-11.
What to do now
The remedy is currently under development. Interim owner notification letters were mailed june 6, 2024. A second notice will be sent once the remedy becomes available. Owners may contact autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is dc-2403.
