An official FSA notice concerns Update 1 - Orgenism recalls Eggshell Membrane Capsules. The presence of Salmonella in the products listed above. The Salmonella found produces extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL), and is resistant to several antibiotics, (fluoroquinolones, tetracycline and Fosfomycin), making it more difficult to treat. Symptoms caused by Salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps. Public Health Authorities advise if you have consumed this product, you should contact your local Health Protection Team for advice on whether or not you need to be tested and how to safely return the product. Advice on how to do this is included below. Even if you feel well, return of the product is essential so that it can be disposed of in a way that does not contaminate the environment and put others at risk. Do not dispose of this product in household waste or flush the capsules down toilets. Published 2025-06-27.
