An official OPSS notice concerns Bobo & Coco Travel Around The World Plush Toy in Box. The product presents a risk of choking and injuries as the soft-filled ‘moustache’ containing a magnet fitted wholly inside the small parts cylinder. The strength of the magnet was tested, and was found to have a magnetic flux index of 57kG²mm (more than the maximum permitted). Small, high powered magnetic products can be easily swallowed and, when ingested, have the potential to cause serious internal injuries within the gastrointestinal tract. The toy also contains phthalates which can potentially harm a child’s health either via cancer or non-cancer effects. Published 2022-07-15.
