An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Vents 150mm LD 12v Low Voltage Fan. The fan is designed for a 12V supply but looks like a 230V product and plug such that it may be plugged into mains power if instructions are not read. If the fan is plugged directly into mains power, it can cause an electrical fire. Published 2017-11-27.
What to do now
Check your fan, if it is installed with a transformer and the mains plug is removed then it is safe to continue using. However if the mains plug is attached, you should stop using; put aside and contact Electrical Supply Corp to organise a replacement.
