An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Toshiba Laptop AC Adapters. While in use, the DC-IN plug of the AC adapter may overheat and cause a fire when the material contained within the plug deteriorates over time - Dynabook recommends turning off power to the Adapter immediately at the wall socket, unplugging the AC adapter and stop using it further. Note: This is an expansion to a previous recall https://www.productsafety.govt.nz/recalls/toshiba-2-pin-ac-adapter where the nature of the issue is the same but additional Adapters have been identified as potentially affected, and having a potential fire hazard. What to do now
Turn off power to the Adapter immediately at the wall socket, unplug the AC adapter and stop using it further, then visit https://serviceportal.anz.dynabook.com/supportlists to determine if the AC adapter is affected and if so, register to return it for a free replacement AC adapter.
