An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Torqeedo battery for electric outboard motors "Travel" and "Ultralight". The battery housing of the motor may not be watertight on some units, allowing water to enter the housing when submerged. If water enters the housing, it may cause a chemical reaction with the lithium battery that could lead to a fire. Published 2019-07-05.
