An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Thermomix TM6 Measuring Cup. When cooking at or above 95°C (200°F) with the TM6 measuring cup in place, certain ingredients may float to the top of the mixing bowl and prevent steam from escaping through hole in the lid.This can cause an increase of pressure in the mixing bowl and may lead to a sudden and uncontrolled spillage of hot contents.If hot contents escape from the mixing bowl, this could lead to scalding or burns. What to do now
When cooking at or above 95 °C (200°F) only use the simmering basket or the Varoma® dish to cover the mixing bowl lid. Do NOT use the TM6 measuring cup to cover the mixing bowl lid.A software update to your TM6 device and new instructions for will provide important warnings and amended instructions.Make sure to complete the software update and get a copy of and follow the new instructions.For more information contact The Mix at 0800 766 966 or via their web form.
