An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns The Mix Shop 2.7 Litre Container. If the consumer uses the vacuum pump to remove air from the container and continues to extract air past the optimal point (after the indicator ball in the lid has dropped) then the glass lid or container may not be able to withstand excessivepressure and could break - if too much pressure is applied with the pump, the glass lid or container could break and pose a laceration risk to the user. Published 2024-11-19.
What to do now
1. Consumers should immediately stop using the product and dispose of it safely in accordance with local council guidelines, and 2., Contact the Mix Australia if they have the product or have given the product to another person or have disposed of the product. 3. Consumers who received the product from The Mix New Zealand will be offered a refund of their purchase price or a gift card to use on The Mix Shop.
