An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns STIHL Model HSA 65 & HSA 85 Cordless Hedge Trimmers. In some cases there may be a malfunction of the electronics. If the malfunction occurs, the engine may operate at a faster speed and/or the blades may continue to move for a short time after the trigger is released. Under certain circumstances, the machine may start to operate when only one trigger switch is pressed. If the defect occurs, this poses a risk of serious injury to the user and bystanders. Stop using your cordless hedge trimmer. Return it to your nearest STIHL SHOP or dealer for a replacement.
