An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Smeg, Built-in BBQs. In some circumstances one of the gas feeder pipes may corrode and gas may leak out causing a fire hazard. Published 2016-04-09.
What to do now
Stop using your Smeg built-in barbecue immediately and turn the gas off at the source. Disconnect the gas supply. Check the model number and contact Applico immediately and we will arrange for a technician to visit and rectify the issue free of charge.
