An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns LG ESS Home Batteries (second recall) - updated August 2023. Originally published 14 September 2022.. The batteries may overheat and catch on fire.If the batteries overheat, there is an increased risk of fire which may result in an injury or death and/or property damage. Published 2023-08-10.
What to do now
LGES is installing a new diagnostic software roll-out to all units.The software is designed to detect abnormal behaviour in cells and trigger a "switch off" if a potentilaly affected unit is identified. This unit will then be replaced.Accept and install the software update or contact your installer if your need support to do so.If a "switch-off" occurs contact your installer/supplier or LGESAU to arrange for the unit to be replaced.Additional information is on the LG Energy Solution website.
