An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns KNOG Blinder 900 & 1300 Bike Lights. Knog have identified that several early production runs of their Blinder 900 and 1300 bicycle lights were made using battery cells that may be prone to failure. Potential battery safety issue, possible burning battery. Published 2025-08-25.
What to do now
Consumers should stop using lights listed in the affected batch codes immediately. Only lights with the batch codes listed are affected by this issue, and all other products are safe to use. In the event your light is affected by this issue, Knog will provide a replacement at no charge to the customer, which includes the replacement cost of the unit and the freight cost. Further, customers should visit the link below to arrange their replacement www.knog.com/recall Contact recall@knog.com for any questions. After arranging your replacement, customers should safely dispose of the affected product inline with local legislation and guidelines.
