An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Jet Black Fan Systems JBF Commercial Fan / Diamond Series Fan. A critical component may not have been installed within the shaft if customer received a chamfered pole with an L bracket mounting plate. Jet Black Fan Systems have recently investigated an incident in which a fan became detached from the drive motor. The fan was effectively caught by the guy wires as intended, so did not fall to the ground or cause any harm. Jet Black Fan Systems believe the risk of any further incidents to be isolated to a very small number of units where the drive motor and fan support pole were mismatched, however Jet Black Fan Systems have identified there is potential that use of the fan may result in harm, loss or damage.
