An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Jacuzzi® Hot Tubs and Sundance® Spas - recall completed March 2024. The temperature sensor can relay incorrect water temperatures and cause the water to be hotter than the set temperature. Potential Risk of injury (heat stroke) and thermal burns. Published 2023-01-18.

What to do now

Recall Complete (March 2024). Follow the direction stated in our User Manual and test the temperature of the spa water with an accurate thermometer before entering your hot tub to avoid a scalding risk. It is advisable to continue to do so even after your new temperature sensor has been installed. DO NOT enter the spa if water temperatures exceed 40ºC. Consumers should contact Spa World New Zealand or Sundance Spas to schedule a free repair. Consumers can visit www.sundancespas.com/en-us/recall.html (for Sundance Spas) orhttps://www.jacuzzispas.co.nz/support/2022-temperature-sensor-recall (for Jacuzzi Spas) to enter their serial number to confirm whether their spa is affected by the recall.
