An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Baby Shark Bath Toys. The Full Sized Baby Shark’s and Mini Sized Baby Shark’s top fin is made of plastic and is not malleable and therefore may cause injury. Complaints received by ZURU all concerned situations in which children were playing with the product in the bathtub and slipped and fell onto the product, or sat down on the product, suffering scratches or puncture wounds. What to do now
Register for a refund by going online at https://www.recallrtr.com/bathshark or www.Zurutoys.com. Once you register and it is determined your product is included in the recall, you will be asked to: For the Full Sized Baby Shark: (1) Cut off the flexible rear tail fin; (2) Mark the body of the Full Sized Baby Shark with the word “recalled” and the unique code provided by ZURU; and (3) Upload a photograph of the Full Sized Baby Shark showing the disabled tail fin and the marked Full Sized Baby Shark. If you own more than one Full Sized Baby Shark, all of the disabled sharks must be shown in the photo. For the Mini Sized Baby Shark: (1) Bend the flexible rear tail fin; (2) Mark the body of the Mini Sized Baby Shark with the word “recalled” and the unique code provided by ZURU; and (3) Upload a photograph of the Mini Sized Baby Shark showing the disabled tail fin and the marked Mini Sized Baby Shark. If you own more than one Mini Sized Baby Shark, all of the disabled sharks must be shown in the photo.
