An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns AEG 58V chainsaw. If the chainsaw becomes jammed and the operator attempts to release it by cycling the ignition trigger, the chainsaw may fail, smoke or catch fire. This issue relates to certain components in limited batches. Published 2016-11-10.

What to do now

Consumers should stop using the chainsaw immediately and can either: - return the product for a full refund from their place of purchase, or - contact TTI Customer Service to register for a replacement chainsaw with a free AEG 58V 4.0 battery, once available.
